about me
For those of you that don’t know me, my name is Verity Crawley, and I am a professional Ten-Pin Bowler.
I was born and raised in Bournemouth on the South Coast of England, UK.
At the age of 5, I began bowling, and I was immediately hooked. Having joined the local Youth Bowling Club, my fascination grew and I progressed to playing a league every single Saturday morning.
I wasn’t the only member of my family who bowled though! My brother was also a bowler in the same Youth Bowling Club, and I quickly gained a strong drive to be as good as him – not only did this lead to my enrollment in tournaments, but it meant my game flourished.
At the age of 12, I first competed for Junior Team England at the United World Games in Vienna, and I won a silver medal. From here, I knew bowling would be part of my future.
In 2012, I competed at the European Youth Championships in Denmark, shot a perfect game, won the singles event and won medals in all events and team. From here everything changed; doors were opened, and I began to path the way to my future.
As I finished Sixth Form (College), I moved to the USA to pursue my education and bowl at collegiate level for Webber International University in Central Florida. Whilst studying at Webber, I won three national championship titles and an abundance of individual titles.
One year after graduating, I took the plunge; I joined the Professional Women’s Bowling Association and became the first British female to become a professional bowler.
In my first year on tour, I made two TV finals (finishing second in both), and was named Runner Up for Rookie of the Year. The following year, I also made another two TV shows. In 2019, I made one show.
2021 saw a lot of success. Winning my first title at the PWBA Greater Nashville Open and making five other shows. Ranking 3rd in the world.
In 2023, I won my second title at the PWBA Grand Rapids Classic.
